Tiara Ervin-Thomas is a dedicated and empathetic advocate for mental health with extensive experience in supporting individuals and families. She is an Associated Licensed Counselor (ALC) in the state of Alabama, currently working under supervision to attain her Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) designation.
Mrs. Ervin-Thomas is committed to creating a safe and non-judgmental environment, allowing clients to explore their emotions and develop effective coping strategies. Her therapeutic approach is client-centered, characterized by empathy and active listening, and she employs a range of counseling techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT). One of her guiding principles is encapsulated in Brooke Shields' quote: “Don’t waste a minute not being happy. If one window closes, run to the next window—or break down a door.” This belief inspires her to help clients find pathways to happiness and fulfillment, no matter the obstacles they face.
With a diverse background, including roles as a special education teacher and school counselor within the Alabama public education system, Mrs. Ervin-Thomas brings a wealth of experience to the Avondale and Associates team. Her personal and professional experiences have profoundly shaped her approach to therapy, and she is dedicated to offering support and hope to clients as they navigate their unique journeys.
