Mr. Ricky Toles, MS

Mr. Ricky Toles, an Alabama native and dynamic mental health professional in the River Region, has made it his life’s work to help others. His passion for challenging the stigma of mental health among people of color drives his dedication to support each client in reaching their goals and effecting positive change in their lives.
 

Mr. Toles’ devotion to providing high-quality mental health support to his clients is displayed through his educational and professional endeavors. He earned his Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University-Montgomery in 2018 and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology. Prior to joining the Avondale and Associates team, Mr. Toles supported the Alabama Department of Youth Services as a Psychological Associate. In this role, he performed psychological evaluations as well as clinical interviews for juvenile sex offenders and general population offenders. He also administered intelligence and achievement testing measures and provided recommendations for after care based on case knowledge. 

As an experienced mental health advocate, Mr. Toles promotes a safe, understanding, and growth-oriented atmosphere for his clients to thrive. He takes the necessary time to fully get to know his clients and their life circumstances so he can provide the best support for their situation. Mr. Toles believes in a holistic approach to healing, helping his clients get to the root of their problems and developing a strategic therapeutic plan to propel them to reach their highest potential.

Mr. Toles is determined to break the stigma surrounding mental health among people of color by empowering his clients with the tools to build self-awareness, cope effectively with life’s struggles, and normalize communication about their mental health status.
 

A family man at heart, Mr. Toles’ time outside of supporting his clients is spent travelling with his wife, walking his dog, and spending time with family.
